Multiple denial of service vulnerabilities in CL_HTTP_EXT_ECHO handler

Impact on Business

By exploiting any of these vulnerabilities, an attacker, authenticated as a non-administrative user, has the ability to significantly degrade the service quality experienced by legitimate users. These attacks introduce large response delays, excessive losses, and service interruptions, resulting in direct impact on availability.

Vulnerability Details

The HTTP requests handler class CL_HTTP_EXT_ECHO allows non-administrative authenticated users to craft requests with certain parameters, which can cause a variety of denial of services conditions.

Solution

SAP has released SAP Note 3296328 which provides patched versions of the affected components.
