RSA 2018 Round-up: A Busy Week of Sharing Security Best Practices

RSAOnapsis is back from RSA Conference 2018, where we shared best practices for securing business-critical ERP applications. ERP security at the application layer is an important piece of an organization’s overall security strategy and our purpose at RSA was to highlight key actions to take during digital transformation projects, plans to comply with legal mandates, such as GDPR, and enhancing overall strategy.

During the week, our Director of Research had a chance to ride the famous cable cars of San Francisco and chat with SC Magazine about vulnerability risk assessment and prioritization.

We hosted an educational CISO Roundtable with the focus, “A CISO’s Top Five SAP and Oracle Application Security Priorities in 2018.” From this in-depth discussion we put together key takeaways to assist in your own security implementations, which will be available soon.

Our presentations allowed us to share best practices for securing SAP and Oracle financial applications from a high level perspective with our CTO and from a technical perspective with members from our research team. The big picture indicated that it is critical to include security for ERP systems as a key component in information security plans and to include it at the start. It can be 5x more expensive to implement security after the fact than when business processes and the flow of information are being changed.

Thanks to everyone who came by to play our Plinko game. We had a great time talking with you and looking on in anticipation of hitting that middle slot! We hope you did too!

In addition to events on the show floor, Onapsis walked the red carpet at the ISPG Awards, where we received recognition for “People Shaping Info Security” and other prestigious awards, including Grand Trophy Winner. Cyber Defense Magazine also honored us with the “Most Innovative” Award in the ERP Security Category.

We will see you at next year’s conference, but in the meantime please check out our events page for a chance to meet up with us in a city near you. Also, remember to follow us on Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and Instagram to stay in touch.
