Meet the Ona – Thomas Fritsch

Q: Please introduce yourself to the Tribe. Can you share a bit about your background, your current role, and where you live?
I am 57 years old and live in Malschenberg (a small village 20 km south of Heidelberg) with a beautiful view of the Rhine plain and the SAP headquarters. Our 27-year-old son lives and works in Düsseldorf, and our 24-year-old daughter studies art in Karlsruhe. I joined Virtual Forge at the end of 2015 and have done research for almost all former and current VF/Onapsis products.
Q: What does your professional journey look like, and what ultimately brought you to Onapsis?
Thirteen years ago, my former company partnered with Virtual Forge, and they scanned my ABAP code for demo purposes. The scan results were very impressive (and frustrating for me at the same time :-). From that day on, I was fascinated by SAP security and decided to dig deeper.
Q: What motivates and drives you in your spare time?
A look in the mirror and a visit to my scales. :-)
Q: How do you bring your personal values into your daily work?
Openness, transparency, and helpfulness are key values. I always try to represent these values. Fortunately, they are in line with our team philosophy and contribute to the fantastic team spirit in our research team.
Q: Which of the core Onapsis values resonates with you the most?
I think all our values deserve respect, and every Ona should try to adopt as many of them as possible. But if I have to decide, I can point out two of them: Respect and… Hack it!
Q: What makes Onapsis the place where you share your talents?
I like the cross-generational and cross-country aspects of our teams. People have been shaped by different societal, cultural, and technological environments. This brings a wider range of viewpoints to problem-solving and brainstorming.
Q: What advice do you have for fellow Onas looking to pursue a personal or professional dream?
Be open for advice. But in the end, trust your gut feeling.
Q: What is next on the horizon for you?
Planning for a trip to the Philippines and/or Laos.
