Shane MacDonald is the Global Vice President of Sales Engineering at Onapsis and brings over a decade of experience in cybersecurity and data warehouse management. At Onapsis, Shane leads a global team of sales engineers responsible for customer growth and success in SAP cybersecurity and compliance. Shane joined Onapsis from RSA where he managed North American Pre-Sales for the company's identity management business unit. He has also held sales engineering and technical consultant roles at EMC and Aveksa (acquired by RSA). Shane holds a B.S in Business Administration from Boston University.
How do you define downtime? In the world of IT, downtime is defined as “time during which a machine, especially a computer, is out of action or unavailable for use.” In a pre-cloud or pre-SAAS era, that definition provided an acceptable description of what actually took place.
