Reflected Cross Site Scripting in “bsp_vhelp” BSP Application

Impact on Business

By exploiting this vulnerability a remote attacker could trick users into clicking malicious links and depending on the level of protection that the browser provides, the attacker could potentially steal their user sessions or other information.

Vulnerability Details

Due to insufficient input sanitization, SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP (BSP Framework) allows an unauthenticated user to alter the current session of the user by injecting the malicious code over the network and gain access to the unintended data. This may lead to a limited impact on the confidentiality and the integrity of the application.  

Solution

SAP has released SAP Note 3269151 which provides patched versions of the affected components.

Onapsis strongly recommends SAP customers to download the related security fixes and apply them to the affected components in order to reduce business risks.
