Recapping a Week at SAPinsider 2025: Key Highlights from the SAP Cybersecurity Event

As the dust settles after a conference week, namely SAPinsider, I like to reflect on my experiences. I’ve been going to SAPinsider conferences for over a decade. I’ve never seen the level of interest, attendance and urgency for SAP Cybersecurity as the one I experienced this week. And while we have been talking about SAP cybersecurity for over 15 years now, we know that the market is catching up in understanding how critical this piece of the business is.

I recap some of my highlights from the event this year below:

Cybersecurity for SAP

Gaurav Singh and JP Perez-Etchegoyen officially premiered their book: Cybersecurity for SAP from SAP Press during the conference. The labor of love that these two went through to create a truly comprehensive guide for SAP Cybersecurity is nothing short of astounding.  The first of its kind, this book details everything you need to know to effectively manage and secure your SAP applications. If that wasn’t enough our two authors have also started a monthly blog series to accompany the book to share key insights with the broader community. Blog one can be found here.

In case you missed the hype, visit our website here to download a chapter and also enter our monthly drawing for a free copy of the book.  If you want to purchase a copy, we also have a 15% discount code (SCAUTH15) when you order directly from SAP Press.

RISE with SAP Security

It’s no surprise that many of the conversations on site revolved around RISE with SAP and how to make sure these implementations run smoothly and securely. I was thrilled to see that more than ever, people are thinking about security at the outset.  I recently had the pleasure of hosting a webinar with Roland Costea, SAP’s CISO for RISE with SAP (ECS) where we discussed how to streamline your RISE with SAP transformation, empowering you to go-live faster and securely.  Check out the on-demand recording here and see how Onapsis can help with our new Secure RISE accelerator

Our SAP Security Partner Ecosystem

The partner ecosystem that we are privileged to work with was also in full force during the event. A huge thank you to all of our partners we connected with at the event–Accenture, Protiviti, Turnkey, Deloitte, CapGemini, KPMG, Rev-Trac and more! We are thrilled to work with a powerful network of system integrators and service providers that help customers secure their SAP application landscapes.

Hearing from Our Customers

Last, but never least, being able to sit down face-to-face with customers onsite always sheds invaluable insight into how we are facilitating the global economy. It was great to connect at the booth, in sessions, and over dinner with so many throughout the week.

It was a great opportunity to connect and showcase our new SAP Defenders Community. All Onapsis customers have access to our secure community where they can exchange best practices, exclusive content, and get answers to their most difficult SAP security and compliance questions from their peers at other leading organizations. Information sharing is so critical to help tackle security challenges and help each other do what we do best.

I hope to see even more connections at SAP Sapphire North America, SAP Sapphire Madrid, SAPinsider EMEA 2025, and SAPinsider 2026!
