SAP PO – Reflected XSS in PCC Xml Editor

Impact on Business

A successful attack could allow an unauthenticated attacker to hijack a user’s session or force the victim to perform undesired requests within the SAP Process Orchestration (PO) application. This can lead to unauthorized data access or modification, impacting the confidentiality and integrity of the system and its business applications.

Vulnerability Details

The SAP Process Orchestration (PO) portal application does not sufficiently sanitize user-controlled input during web page generation. This deficiency allows an unauthenticated attacker to craft a malicious link that, when clicked by a victim, executes arbitrary script code in the victim’s browser. This results in a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, which can be leveraged to hijack user sessions or perform unauthorized actions on behalf of the victim.

Solution

SAP has released SAP Note 3468681 which provides patched versions of the affected components.

The patches can be downloaded from https://me.sap.com/notes/3468681.

Onapsis strongly recommends SAP customers to download the related security fixes and apply them to the affected components in order to reduce business risks.
