Onapsis Appoints Enterprise Technology Veteran Rick Hanson as Chief Operating Officer
Former Hewlett-Packard, Symantec, and RSA Executive to Scale Onapsis’ Global Commercial Operations to Protect Cloud, On-Premises, and Hybrid Business-Critical Applications
BOSTON – September 7, 2021 – Onapsis, the leader in business-critical application cybersecurity and compliance, today announced the appointment of Rick Hanson as Chief Operating Officer. Hanson’s responsibilities will focus on leading and scaling Onapsis’ global go-to-market functions to meet the explosive demand for its world-class platform to secure cloud, on-premises, and hybrid business-critical applications.
A seasoned leader with nearly 30 years of experience developing high-performing teams and a CISSP for almost 20 years, Hanson brings a unique understanding of the challenges today’s security and IT teams face. Most recently, he served as the Chief Revenue Officer at Brightcove, where he led global sales, professional services, channel, customer success, tech support, and field operations. Previously, Hanson held several executive go-to-market leadership roles at CA Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Symantec, and RSA. Rick began his career by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and serving as an IT Director for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“Onapsis is one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity and technology companies, and I am extremely proud and honored to begin this journey,” said Hanson. “Threat actors are increasingly targeting the critical business applications of the world’s largest companies. The demand for solution providers that can secure these crucial enterprise resources has never been higher. I look forward to working with the Onapsis leadership and go-to-market organization to help our clients thwart these attacks with an application-specific strategy powered by The Onapsis Platform.”
Hanson joins the company at a time when attacks on business-critical applications are at an all-time high. Onapsis was recently recognized by Inc. Magazine on the annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies — growth fueled by an increasing demand for security solutions that combat such attacks.
“Rick has an incredible track record, having successfully led multi-billion dollar commercial operations at several of the world’s leading cybersecurity and technology companies,” said Mariano Nunez, CEO and Co-founder, Onapsis. “His extensive experience, strong values, and proven leadership will further scale our global go-to-market strategy and execution. I am thrilled to welcome Rick to the Onapsis team as we accelerate our growth and continue delivering on our mission of protecting the applications that power the global economy.”
Hanson will help Onapsis drive customer value and increase its reach beyond the more than 300 global businesses — including 20% of the Fortune 100 and brand names like 3M, Levi’s, Sony, and Pfizer — that trust The Onapsis Platform to protect business-critical data and applications.
